Where Mole is the better choice
- The command-line tool is free and open source.
- It runs on Intel Macs too.
- It installs other apps' updates, including Homebrew and Electron apps, maps the whole disk rather than just your home folder, and controls fans.
- It's $10 cheaper if you only need it on one or two Macs.
What Unslow does differently
- Everything it removes goes to the Trash by default, where Finder can put it back. Nothing in cleanup is ticked for you.
- It records every slowdown over the day with the app behind it, so you can see why your Mac was slow earlier, not only right now.
- It explains what's inside System Data and what removing each part would cost, before you touch anything.
- Unslow Now quits the apps you pick and measures how much memory came back, instead of purging memory.
- One licence covers 3 Macs.
